Why do I have to do all these courses?

Phantom Lake Soccer Club is a Quality Service Provider (QSP) of Canada Soccer.  To be a member of Manitoba Soccer, Saskatchewan Soccer, and Canada Soccer, our coaches have to comply with the minimum coaching standards.  To see the coaching standards, click HERE

Our club cannot compete in out of town tournaments including friendlies, Summer/Winter Games or provincials unless our coaches meet these standards.  Failure to meet these standards could result in fines or suspensions.

 

I don’t know my certifications.  What do I do?

You can go to your Coaching Locker at Coaching Association of Canada and login to your account to check your profile and coaching transcript. https://thelocker.coach.ca/account/login?ReturnUrl=%2f  Here, you can find your NCCP# and your RiS#.

If you did not link your Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders (RiS) to your coaching transcript, you can find your # here https://sasksrc.respectgroupinc.com/.  

You will need both your NCCP and RiS to coach with PLSC.  You will not be assigned a team until both are submitted in the current season.

 

I did my Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders in another province or from another sport?  Can I use it for PLSC?  

Yes.  All courses offered are national courses and can be used in any province.

 

I did my soccer coaching courses in another province.  Can I use it for PLSC?

Yes.  All courses offered are national courses and can be used in any province.

 

I need to update my coaching courses.  Who do I contact?

PLSC Technical Director has coaching access codes FREE for the 2024 season.  Email for more information

 

Can I coach my kid?  

Yes.  PLSC prioritizes placing a parent coach’s child on their team.

 

What do I need to coach for PLSC?

Phantom Lake Soccer Club is a nationally licensed Quality Soccer Provider (QSP).  All community (formerly House League) coaches must complete the following:

  • Completion of an up to date Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector (expires every 3 years).  PLSC will accept records obtained after August 31, 2022 for the 2023 Season.  Volunteer Letter can be taken to your local detachment.
  • Completion of an up to date Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders course (expires every 5 years).  Can be completed online at https://sasksrc.respectgroupinc.com/koala_final/ 
  • Completion of the appropriate Canada Soccer Grassroots coaching course for the age/stage they are coaching.  Online courses from Canada Soccer are free from PLSC for the 20243 season.  On field sessions will be done in Spring 2023.  Email our technical director for your access codes.
  • Be registered through RAMP

You will not be assigned a team until ALL of the above has been submitted to PLSC via RAMP
